How to Prepare Your Space Before a Business Photoshoot

A bit of preparation before your business photoshoot makes a real difference to how much we can get done, and how the final photos turn out. Here's what helps.
Declutter, then declutter again
Clear away anything that isn't part of the shot, stray cables, packaging, half finished cups of tea. It's easy to stop noticing this stuff when you're in the space every day, but it shows up clearly in photos.
Think about lighting
Natural light is usually the most flattering option, so if you can, plan the shoot for a time of day when your space gets good daylight. Switch off flickering overhead lights where you can, they can clash with natural light and cause colour issues in photos.
Make a shot list
Which products or items matter most, and do you need close ups as well as wider shots?
Do you want photos of you or your team working, not just the products themselves?
Are there any specific shots you need for a particular use, like a website banner or a specific social media post?
Have everything ready to go
Clean products, pressed fabric, polished surfaces, whatever applies to what you do. The less time we spend fixing things on the day, the more time we have for actually getting great shots.
